Yates Construction and our joint venture partner provided design-build services for the U.S. Penitentiary and Federal Prison Camp. The maximum-security institution, with living units and support facilities for approximately 1,200 inmates, achieved LEED® Gold certification. The campus plan consists of several one- and two-story buildings, a Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR) factory, maintenance buildings, and general housing buildings, each within a secure compound.
Outside the secure compound is a central utility plant, a central administration building, a new facility warehouse, and a minimum-security Federal Prison Camp (FPC) with living units, support facilities, and outdoor recreation facilities. The project scope also included a new wastewater screening building and water booster pump station.
