Yates Construction provided construction management services for the WVU Women and Children's Tower. The project consists of a new 10-story tower with 150 additional beds, outpatient clinics, diagnostic imaging, dietary services, operating rooms, cardiac catheterization and endoscopy facilities, a 20-bed pediatric intensive care unit, and a 10-bed procedure and sedation unit, a 50-bed neonatal intensive care unit, 40-bed pediatric acute care unit, a 30-bed obstetrical unit with potential for expansion, and pediatric subspecialty and maternal-fetal medicine clinics. All of the inpatient rooms are private.
The tower includes a satellite pharmacy, laboratory, respiratory therapy, and cafeteria. It is attached to the southeast tower, which houses the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute.
