Renasant Convention Center

The City of Memphis and the Memphis Cook Convention Center Commission

The Renasant Convention Center includes renovating and modernizing a seven-story convention center initially constructed in 1968. The project comprises 300,000 SF of flexible meeting, exhibit, and pre-function space, 46 meeting rooms totaling 90,000 SF, a 118,000 SF column-free exhibit hall, and a 28,000 SF ballroom. In addition, the facility design transforms the exterior facade from solid concrete walls with few windows to floor-to-ceiling windows and outdoor terraces overlooking the Mississippi River. Updates to the three-story, below-grade parking garage were part of the project as well. Four new truck docks will allow four 18-wheelers to park side by side for load-in and load-out.

This project scope also included a new pedestrian bridge from the convention center to a neighboring hotel. This project component required heavy communication with the City of Memphis and the Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA).
