Keesler Medical Center

NAVFAC Southeast

Yates Construction provided construction services for the Keesler Medical Center. This 140,000 SF project consists of a four-story addition including 62 beds, a mechanical penthouse, partial basement levels, and a connection to the existing hospital building. The addition embraces its surroundings and one-of-a-kind views to create a hospitality-like experience for admitted patients. The design incorporates evidence-based design principles, maximizing access to natural light and nature to support the care of the whole person. Patient units feature a same-handed room layout to help reduce patient falls, encourage frequent hand washing, increase staff time with the patient, better-defined patient, caregiver, and family zones, and create a truly patient-centered environment.
