Port of Jacksonville
Yates Construction provided construction services for the Port of Jacksonville’s container terminal horizontal port infrastructure. This project included the container storage paving area, two 1,200-foot berths, and associated dredging along the terminal’s waterfront. More than 1.5 million yd3 of dredge debris from the St. John’s River was removed and used to bring the site to grade elevation. A docking facility over a half-mile long was constructed along the shoreline to accommodate the ships unloading cranes. Yates Construction installed all underground utilities, including stormwater conveyance, water pipes, sanitary sewer pipes, conduits, and duct banks for power and communications. The project also included approximately 90 acres of concrete paving and striping.
