We work every day to ensure that we plan safety in every task.

With safety as our number one core value, our culture supports a zero-injury philosophy achieved through ongoing education, training, and behavioral modification. Our policy encourages dedication and an unwavering awareness of the safety and well-being of the job site.

Experience, continuing education, and personal responsibility ensure adherence to strict safety standards. Continuously low EMR and incident rates are evidence of our commitment.

Our Corporate Safety Team

Each employee plays a vital role in the success of our safety program and in our goal of achieving a zero-incident rate on every project.

Safety Recognition

Through company-wide collaboration, we have achieved a nationally recognized level of safety success. In recent years, we have received more than 100 safety awards, including the Associated Builders and Contractors’ National Safety Excellence Award – the organization’s highest level of safety recognition.

Our Commitment

Experience, continuing education, and personal responsibility ensure our safety standards are met and exceeded.

Quality Control

Quality Control

Quality of the Plan = Quality of the Results

Yates Construction's portfolio of projects demonstrates that the quality of the plan and planning effort are directly related to the quality of the results, meaning effective planning is critical to the success of your project.

The key to a successful quality program is to define the quality expectations from the beginning of each project and maintain them through the end. Yates Construction works with all stakeholders to align quality expectations, project goals, and a clearly defined scope of work. By planning for quality at the outset, we can identify challenges early, implement proven processes and methods that improve efficiency, and foster a collaborative environment among stakeholders.

The quality framework established at Yates Construction prepares the project teams to complete highly complex and technical projects with predictable outcomes.

Yates Construction measures quality performance throughout the project delivery cycle and updates appropriate countermeasures and activities to increase the value provided to all project stakeholders. We focus on preventative and predictive quality metrics categories. By keying in on select areas, we can evaluate the success of the quality program and support a continuous improvement culture and proactive data-driven leadership across the organization.

Our teams conduct constructability and design reviews during preconstruction, identifying inconsistencies and areas for optimization. From design to project closeout, we are the driving force behind the quality program, ensuring all installations and assemblies meet or exceed the benchmark standards established at the Initial Inspection. We are committed to implementing what is working and refining what is not to carry on the continuous improvement cycle, ensuring better project outcomes.

Sustainability

Sustainability

Committed to the holistic integration of sustainable practices

Because we believe it is our responsibility to be good stewards of our environment, Yates Construction is dedicated to promoting value-driven building design processes to optimize efficiency and human health and wellness solutions.

We are committed to the holistic integration of sustainable practices within the built environment. We partner with our clients, trade partners, and others to ensure we incorporate sustainability at every stage of the building life cycle, from planning, design, and material selection to building operation and energy efficiency after completion.

Success in driving these initiatives depends on a clear vision, strategic objective, and the commitment of all stakeholders. We have a wealth of experience leading sustainability efforts throughout the process, from sourcing responsibly produced building materials to managing job site environmental aspects, implementing programs to reduce job site waste, and more.

Additionally, a building’s life cycle has the potential to leave the deepest carbon footprint. That is why we provide our clients with tools to maintain sustainable practices long after the project's completion. We continually strive to advance the long-term viability of our facilities, the local environment, the impact of general construction operations, and the community.

As a U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) member, Yates Construction is involved with a diverse group of building professionals to help further develop the green building industry. Our employees serve on local and national levels within the USGBC organization and communicate the most current green building initiatives.

As a leader in sustainable construction, we continue to focus on sustainable practices.

Environmental Management System (EMS)

Yates Construction has well-established corporate programs to monitor environmental concerns on construction projects. We have proven and effective Best Management Plans for erosion and sediment control, wetland impact, construction waste management, and spill prevention to ensure compliance with environmental issues.

Our Environmental Management System (EMS) was created using the ISO 14001:2004 environmental management standards as a guideline. The EMS contains policies and procedures to help ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Yates has a dedicated environmental staff and department, allowing corporate knowledge of environmental rules, regulations, and protocols. In addition, we perform project audits to assess performance and provide continuous improvement.

GHG Emissions and Low-Carbon Materials

In response to the industry's ongoing transformation, Yates understands the decarbonization trends, the impact of the built environment, and the necessary changes to achieve net-zero commitments.

We’ve been tracking our GHG emissions since 2023 and continue to identify our carbon footprint reduction targets. Our sustainability vision includes sourcing low-carbon materials, especially concrete and steel, whenever feasible. We provide material assessments and comparisons to develop comprehensive build plans to help our clients reach their carbon reduction targets.

Construction Waste

We promote responsible resource consumption and sustainable materials, and encourage practices that minimize waste and pollution across all projects. We uphold safe and sustainable practices in the day-to-day management of our job site activities.

E-Waste

In response to the growing global e-waste problem, Yates implemented a responsible e-waste recycling program. We work with an R2V3-certified company that uses the Reuse, Recover, Recycle, and Zero-landfill End-destination Model. This model supports the mission of zero e-waste and creating a Circular Economy.
